New Year’s Eve Glam

What a year this has been! We’ve all experienced the highs, the lows and iconic moments over the last 12 months but now it’s time to kick back and breathe a sigh of relief for it is finally coming to a close. I know I’m looking forward to the new experiences 2017 will bring, so what better way to celebrate the new than to end off 2016 in style. Literally lol.

Maybe the growing 90s fashion renaissance is to blame, but during the latter part of 2016 I’ve been seeing velvet everywhere. Regardless of the reason I’m here for it. Velvet fabrics are typically very rich in color, and add a beautiful and luxurious texture to the outfit.

When I picked up this dress I absolutely fell in LOVE with it. I found it while thrift shopping, and decided I was buying it before even trying it on.  If it didn’t fit I’d find a way! While examining the dress, the clothing label on the inside immediately caught my attention. It was an older style tag that I’ve never seen before so my best guess is that it is late 90’s to mid 00’s; definitely an old-school Forever 21 piece. This dress paired perfectly with matching crushed velvet strappy sandals.

I felt the outfit needed a pop of something. Usually I tend to gravitate towards gold tones, but for this look I decided to give silver a go. I love the versatility of stacked rings, and I'm really feeling the boho-grunge vibe it brings.

It's winter so I'm happy to stay warm with this faux fur accent. Faux fur stoles have been trending this season, and after seeing it literally all the stores I frequent, I had to have one.

Keeping with the theme, I went with crushed velvet shoes. I'm a huge fan of this fabric because I think it brings more character to the mix.
